Demijohn supplier (in the UK)?

Hi,

Just a quick question that maybe one of you knowledgeable people here can answer.

I'm after a large glass container (around 5 litres?) like a demi-john, but with a tap in the side, at the bottom.

It is to be used in a shop display, whereby a liquid can be poured into the top to fill it up. The liquid can then be dispensed in small quantities through the tap at the bottom.

I've searched all over the internet but can not find anything suitable anywhere! There seem to be lots of normal demi-johns, but none with a tap in the side.

Is there a special name for such a type of container?

Please help!

Thanks, Shaun.

How about a "Sun Tea Jar" a little less than liters, but they're small, buy

  1. Here is a solar powered spinning version, but I do believe they are still available in the non solar powered version.

A trip to your local WalMart will yield a plastic container such as you described. I saw one today, designed for storing water in the refrigerator.

Is there are reason you need glass? Most of the large decorative containers with dispensers at the bottom are ceramic.

Yes, we plan to fill the glass jars with a type of coloured liquid, which will then be backlit. So it needs to be glass really.
