help!

I have purchased a very unusual glass piece, not sure exactly what it is but I'll try to describe it...

It sort of resembles a child's spinning top only the sides are flat. the spout is on top and the bottom comes to a point. We have filled it with water and found that it sits nicely on its side so could be a wine decanter. It has the name Bolla very prominent just below the spout. It is glass not crystal and we are wondering if anyone has seen such a piece and what exactly is it.

Thanks for any help

probably the give away. Bolla is a mid priced Italian wine that enjoys great popularity and this was probably a promotional piece produced by the vintner.

Sorry I failed to mention, you don't find much crystal in wine decanters anymore. It is said that the mild acidity of the wine leaches the lead out of the crystal, you probably know the rest of the story.
