It has been mighty quiet around here! I would prefer to think that you are all SOOO busy with your glass that you haven't had time to post, rather than if Java don't play, ain't nobody playin'!
I want to thank everyone that assisted me by sharing their approach to drilling fused glass. My big problem was speed...for whatever reason I decided that glass would require a high speed for drilling. Since slowing down to around 3500 rpm as recommended by Scratch, I haven't had any casualties!
Come to think of it, that seems to be true for about everything to do with glass. I marvel at my love affair with glass since it requires "slow and easy" and I am probably the most impatient, impetuous, slapdash person any of you are apt to meet. And yet I have NEVER had a greater passion for any of my other interests (of which they are legion!) which has been demonstrated by my allowing the medium to be the master of me and my behaviors...forcing me to honor its nature by being both fascinating and beautiful! God...I am embarassed by how much I love glass! LOL
So assuming that I am now associating with other hyelophiles (or is that hyalophiles? or nelophiles? hmmm), I would love to know how you came to be mastered by glass.
