A little stitching

And socializing

Saw Bobbie V and the grandkids on Tuesday. Those boys do love DD, I swear the oldest remembers her from his last visit. And the baby all but fell asleep in my arms.

Saw her progress on the Chatelaine Mandala she's working on and home improvements.

Picked up a piece of plastic canvas and picked out the background color for my Ott Lamp tote. I choose Sugar and Cream cotton yarn in sage green as the main color - I've done the complete bottom in it and love it. I've used a double thickness of the plastic canvas on the bottom and the stitching is still really quick.

The sides will be outlined in reversing Scotch Squares and I'll do motifs of lady bugs and dragonflies and what ever else strikes my fancy and fill in around them. The motifs will be in pearl cotton or maybe some ribbon work. I might even do some glow in the dark yarn...fireflies any one.

Hope to get some stitching in today, but it depends out how fast we get through the stuff that needs to be done - like packing up DD for hockey camp. And taking DS's phone to the Apple Store. But since the laundry is already going and the kids are still asleep... I'm off to find more motif ideas..

The tote sounds like it's going to be lovely. I highly recommend doing something in glow in the dark, but I am a tad biased in that regard. Hmm maybe my next tote should use the glow in the dark yarn if its still available. I don't have a glow in the dark one.

Haven't seen the yarn lately, but check eBay.

I'm thinking maybe adapting chart for a bee and using the glow in the dark on the tail. And yes, I know a firefly doesn't really look like a bee.
