A Mystery

Rubbery? There used to be a series of kits that included a rubbery hoop for framing the finished product. Mine has a "woodgrain" finish. Any of the projects in the bag wind up round-ish that might be the companion to the rubbery hoop?

think that's it!! I only have the red portion tho' (and mine isgreen), so it DOES fit into another hoop to keep fabric taut. Karengot me onto that line of thinking and now you've come up with thesolution. It's not much use the way it is, but I presume whoeverpacked up this stuff didn't know or care much about it so didn't knowthere was a part missing. Mystery solved - thanks ladies. Somethinglike this can drive you crazy - my friend didn't have a clue and she'sa long time needleworker. Sharon (N.B.)

Actually, I have several of these sitting in a drawer still with the little needlework items in them. Mine were kits and the ring made specifically to be used when stitching the design and then used as a "frame" for hanging. The rubbery part was stretched over and then into a U shaped metal inner ring that had a small tab shaped piece that stuck out beyond the rubbery ring. There was a fancy little decorative ring on the end of the tab and that was what you hung the finished piece from. You laid the metal ring on a table, positioned the fabric on top of that and then stretched the rubbery ring over everything and let is settle into the U shaped channel. This held the fabric in place for stitching and mounting and could easily be removed when the stitched item needed to be laundered. I'm not sure, but I "think" they might still be available in
