a stitch-y read -

Well Off'd in Vermont (Amy Patricia Meade. Cross stitching textile curator moves to VT with park ranger husband. Finds dead body in their well.

Not bad - like the characters. The husband and wife are sort of Nick and Nora-ish.

Author has other series - writing was pre't near perfect!

It's sitting on my Kindle. Maybe that's what I need for my next read after I finish a spy story set at the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

It's not deep - but it was a good cozy.

On to book 4 of the Codex Alera by Jim Butcher. very enjoyable - similar to Song of Ice and Fire in the multiple plots and vast array of characters

Lets hope so - do you have Monica Ferris' Blackwork - might inspire you too.

What I like to do when I'm in a stitch-slump is to pick up books from some other discipline - glass work or knots or beads or quilts. Or even from something I haven't done with a needle - like whitework

And I've had a couple finishes this week! Irish Blessing the other day, Take Time to Collect last night. Got to get photos of both before I send them on their way. And now I'm working on Bienvenue from the same issue of JCS as a housewarming gift.

I'm thinking that may become my go-to housewarming gift..... If the magazine is to be believed, only one skein of floss required, and fits a standard frame. University Art carries a line of frames in vivid colors, so I'll be going to their 20% off sale this week to pick up one to match.
