What the hey??? I didn't see these messages until this morning.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Ellice neglected to explain that this is one of those "big" ones ending in zero starting with a five. My sister is a shining example of how to handle this. For her fiftieth she went hot air ballooning, got a tattoo, and got her motorcycle license. None of those are my goals, but I'm going to start thinking of some that better suit me (well - I just may do the tattoo thing.)

LOL - Ellice also neglected to say that Donna's charming DH actually asked me a couple of weeks back if "we had something planned" for the event, and, well, he was so proud of the needlework piece from Liberty they'd chosen for her special gift. And nicely we had the chat about the don't be guilty about not having a big party 'cause if Donna wanted one, we'd all know it! Sadly, this woman and all her many luncheon plans have been postponed due to blizzrds! So, she gets extended b-day celebrations.....Personally, I just started ignoring b-days a while ago. So, hmmm - thought we were going to do some LNS visiting tomorrow?? Does that mean we're including a tat visit? My former hockey teammate did hers when turning 40 (not something I'm going for).

DH's sister went sky-diving, and to Mt. Rushmore for her 50th (this would be the crazy SIL). The mean one, well, her then more troubled daughter arranged some big party at a little bar in downtown Providence. The daughter was so drunk that she passed out, head down on the bar in the front (not the "party room") at 8:30, and then stuck her step-dad with the bill (though she'd said she was handling it) which then meant we had to "chip in." Hmmmm....which was more exciting.

My DH is about 6 weeks older than Donna, and had his biggie on Dec 30th - with no big fanfare - though. I had hopes for something to surprise him, but he didn't want such. OTOH, he's now acknowledging being "7" - or should I say "seben" ..... And like Donna, neither shows their age - all DH's fellow refs had a hard time belieiving he was 40, let alone beyond that. His big thing, getting the "elite" level ref cert - a big deal 'cause it's a really, really, difficult skating test of edgework, speed and agility (made up of multiple things, and scored with 30 different factors) - so he's almost the oldest guy around with that level cert (1 of 3 in his age group in our 11 state district).

Belated Happy Birthday, Donna!!

You did get a snazzy new hairstyle...that could be called something different!!

My ex-neighbor went parachuting for her 85th and 90th birthdays. Now, that is something to aspire to.
