If it's the one I know, it's on Steeles Ave, just east (and I mean JUST) of Weston Road (north side of Steeles in a small strip mall). The Enchanted Needle. It's also about 5 minutes from Lee Valley if that helps your cause getting hubby to join in the road trip. :-) Tara

Works for me. I'm busy with the RS cat now, and DH has to have carpal tunnel surgery on both hands. My back patio door fell off and so we're having to have that replace pronto, as well.
I'm thinking Ren Fest is going to have to wait and I've almost made up my mind to make the trek to Oklahoma to beg and grovel in a more appropriate place and manner.
On the upside, I got an account with Needle Necessities today, which I'm sure I will make me abuse my credit card all the faster.
As for beads, take a look at this place:

square feet of beads. (Yes, I know I am mean.)

Thanks Tara - - I've seen the Enchanted Needle at (iirc) the Creative Needlework Show, but never got there in person. Well, I guess I'm just going to have to make a road trip!

Glad it helps someone. I'm the woodworker as well as stitcher, so it tends to divide disposable income and time. :-) I need a tackle store nearby to help my cause.
Though, I do get a fair bit of time when in Ottawa. Blue gets to go to the Chinese Food place next door and get 3 dozen egg rolls (1 dozen heated).

That's the one. 3850 Steeles Ave West, just west ofderpass that divides Woodbridge from T>O> And this Woodbridge, from what I have seen, is Modern Italian stonemasonry and fairly affluent. It probably was once a genteel town but is now far too close to the Big City.
They also have a site at

with lots of info. But the owner has LOTS and LOTS of European magazines and books as well as all the DMC AND Anchor threads. AND she knows how to get things like DMC Flower Threads, etc AND she will special order if you can take a whole box of something she can't stock.
Stitching night is the last Thursday of each month.

HA - I'd like to have just ONE decent lns in my area. Only thing around are a couple of competing quilt shops, where you might as well be invisible in reference to getting any kind of help. Even my nearest Joann Fabs is about 50 miles away.
I have to order my np wool online. I used to go to a large city where there was a wonderful shop with tons of Paternayan tapestry and persian, plus tons of xs kits, but they folded. Lately, I have made do with the old stash.
