Are there any knitters here???

Interesting. I knit in the round also, and habitually work both sleeves at once. I just have to be sure that I stop after both sleeves or in the middle of one of them, but never with one done and one not started, or I don't know which direction I'm to go in.

My problem is that I get bored very easily. This works out for me because I can fool myself into thinking it's a whole new project. Length has never created a problem for me, possibly because I'm so used to doing it that way that it's become second nature and I can eyeball the length correctly most of the time. I still ALWAYS measure just in case.

Your way is the way to assure that both sleeves are exactly the same and for most people the only correct way.

Needless to say I almost never, ever do the same thing twice.

Lucille YEARS ago when i first learned to knit socks [in 3rd grade] i got bored with 2 green socks , thuis added some red stropes to my 2nd sock. My mother was called in and was told `to take care and tame that unneeded creativity ` .... mirjam

How lucky for the world that your mother didn't listen and stop you from creating beautiful and innovative things.

Oh, boy, does that sound familiar!!! Where I grew up, girls were supposed to be quiet, and modest, and humble, and "fit in". Creative, outgoing, individual - those were all rude words!!!

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and It really wasn't very different in the big city. I was always being punished in school for doing my own thing. I think it was more a sign of the times, then an area of the world.
