$5 per skein? If so, how much do these fibers cost normally? I can't see myself paying $5 a skein for any fiber - new or on clearance. -- Unless the skein is 100 yds or something else massive.

No, I wouldn't do that either! No, it's a bag full of threads - one has 40 cards the other about 30, each in a rainbow of colors. Each is usually about $3.

Quite the deal there. I use the neon rays in NP a lot. Just remember to dampen them.

Wheewww!!! $5 for approx 40 skeins of non-DMC/Anchor/Coats is a deal I would consider (depending on bag contents) but $5 a skein -- No chance in this world or any other.

Guessing you haven't been buying any Waterlilies or the like. Much of the hand-dyed in silk and some specialty threads are in that range. That is - $5/skein. I got part of my stash at a trade show when Caron was selling baggies of the then new colors for a great price, and then "leavings" - a mixed bag of different Caron threads - just not all complete skeins - so they weren't tagged - but the price was great. Got a lot of nice Watercolours, Impressions, etc. But, I have plunked down the full price often enough for those special items.

But, to each his own.

Good heavens, yes. Paid much more than that WHOLESALE for a bunch of Gloriana overdyeds (although they've 6 yards and 12 strands, so nice value for the money with regard to silk).

I'm going to start offering conversions for that stuff because I just can't see how accessible my designs will be if I'm using every cool (yet obscure) thing that comes down the pike.

Oh, I take that back. I paid much more than the usual wholesale for overdyed silk. It's the most expensive one by far, yet, but not over $5 wholesale.

LOL - I was going to say that someone didn't give you the wholesale price. I think some of the Gloriana's were about $6 retail - but I could be wrong.
