S.E.X. happy dance

I made it over to Fancy Threads (the shop going out of business) this morning. First off, I'd like to confess I made a mistake--they are only open until 2:00 this Saturday which is their last day.

I picked up a skein of Needle Necessities overdyed #104 (I used most of the one I had for a baby project), two packets of MH 00146 seed beads for Christmas ornaments, a 12"x10" piece of 32 ct. English Rose linen, a

9-1/2" x 13" piece of 32 ct. ecru linen, a 10-1/4" x 16" piece of 32 ct. ecru linen, Emie Bishop's 2000 "Christmas in My Heart", a Linda Driskell pulled thread bookmark kit, Candamar's "The Garden of Promise" (T. Kinkade) chart, "The Complete DMC Encyclopedia of Needlework" (Centennial Edition), and an autographed copy of "Embroidered Truths". The last item accounted for half of the total since it wasn't discounted at all. Everything else was at least 60% off. The whole shebang (with tax) was under $50.

They are selling everything including the stitched models on the walls. There was one of those that was quite tempting (and only $12!) and I thought about grabbing some of the floss cabinets ($30 each and they have a lot left), but decided I better wait and talk to DH first. I can go back on Thursday if I want. They also have DMC Medici wool and I couldn't remember what colors of that are called for in the Marbek "Nativity" so I'll likely pick those up also. There's still a ton of Rainbow Gallery fibers, charts, DMC floss and perle, Kreinik spools, needlepoint canvases and wools, and fabric remnants. The Needle Necessities and non-RG silks are almost gone and the Mill Hill rack is getting thinned out.

It is sad that this store is closing since it has friendly staff people and there is what appears to be a nice framing shop just a few doors down. There is also a nice children's clothing store three doors away so I found a nice, "foofy" dress for my daughter to wear for Christmas Eve (and other special occasions). And I still managed to beat my husband home for lunch. :-)
