Quickie S.E.X.

So, I just had to visit the Scarlet Thread's Open House sale. Fortunately, our good pal, and enabler, Donna, had suggested she would be there late in the day at 4:30. When I arrived at 4:35 - she'd clearly been there for a bit ;^) Good idea - the late in the day thing - kind of limits the damage you can do.

So, I got 2 Drawn Thread Charts - which I love: Love and Wisdom, for which I also got the NP silk - with Donna's help. Ms. Donna did a great job searching out appropriate colored dyed linen - and we hit one immediately. Some beautiful Lakeside Linen in the Vintage Maple Sugar color (and since I had to buy a 1/4 yd cut for the length, we may be sharing). Great eye that gal has.

chart, Toccato No 2 - which I really like - who knows when I'll do it,but...it was on sale.

a couple of little Petit Point/long-stitch kits - very nice - one ofRowan, and the other a nice trees scene. For gifts. Uh huh. FromDerwentwater Designs. And a chart for Cheryl - who I knew wanted the Luna Moth - and it was on sale - so it's heading your way.

Donna got some great stuff herself. After the pricey chart buying, I put back the gorgeous Amethyst linen that I just wanted. That's my version of self restraint - jeez, I'm pathetic.

OK - now, hear me. I'm done. No more stash for a while. A long while. That's my December commitment. Finishing Summer Garden - maybe tonight. Finishing the wedding sampler, and my welcome sampler for the house. Then, I'm going to start the Love and Wisdom as soon as the Summer Garden is done. And I'm also going to get the fabric edges prepped to start the pumpkins - but they're waiting for a while to get started. I'm going to try and be resposible. I'm getting to close to SABLE - though not there yet. And I'm going to finish the Irish Chain Lap Quilt. And one baby quilt. And then do those darn scarf/stole things.

But not more stash for a while. I'm actually starting to feel a bit guilty. Must get job. Must send out new resumes. Saw really appropriate and intriguing job posted by Canadian Embassy - for this one, I'd drive downtown and go back to work full time - and , I mean, they wouldn't want me to wear panty hose? So, will at least hope for interview. Hmmmm.

No more stash. Been too enabled already. Darn it. Too bad DH is so nice about it - he actually was apologetic that we were busy and I couldn't go sooner.

OK - sorry for the little attack - I'm better now.

As always, you pick the loveliest stuff. I could truly use a little time and/or money for S.E.X. - ok really just the time. I love both the charts and the Derwentwater kits. I covet so many of those having seen them at Celebrations. (BTW Brit Stitch is a class act) Thank you for Luna Moth in advance!

Cheryl Oh and that fabric sounds delish!

Ah. That was totally fun. I really hadn't been there that long before you showed up. I was the model of restraint and purchased 21 skeins of Needlepoint Inc. silks. LOL These are all the silks needed for two complete Carriage House Samplings pieces and three silks for a third one that I'll do with silks and cottons. And my only chart was a special order - again with the Carriage House Samplings - the Gingham Dog and the Calico Cat. I need to check my stash for fabric and if that doesn't pan out the Maple Syrup that Ellice bought would look lovely and I'll go buy some of my own.

Glad you think so - and you're welcome. DH liked the Luna Moth - thought it's really "neat" . I spent last night actually reading the chart books with the 2 Drawn Thread pieces. Definitely not for the faint hearted! Some really interesting stitches in there. I'm looking forward to starting on the Love & Wisdom - especially since it's on 32 ct (the sample is on 30 but the directions don't change for either). The Toccata I'm going to do on 36 ct, and until I've seen the eye doctor - I fear I really do finally need the reading glasses - I'll put that off.

It is really nice - and I do thank Donna for finding it so quickly. Of course she got something really nice, too, and we did for each other - the floss toss on fabric - yuck to one, yeah to the other.
