From an EGA Fiber Artist: Re: grub stitch rose. Over the years, grub stitch has become known as whipped straight stitch. It's the same thing, only I think it was known as grub stitch in Australia and Americans couldn't embrace that name. It is on page 105 in A-Z of Ribbon Embroidery by Inspirations. However, even 10 years ago, you found it in books as grub stitch rose.
