Well thank you all - just got in from family supper thing. Best part was the birthday cake was made entirely from scratch by my youngest grandson, now 14. A very nice vanilla cake, frosted with a Philadelphia Cream Cheese type frosting and decorated with strawberries. Looked good, tasted great and the texture was very good.

So those hours spent when he was 4/5/6 after school doing 'stuff' in the kitchen have paid off. My daughters are good cooks but my son and this grandson are the ones with flair. Funny how things turn out. I have to say I felt inordinately pleased about the cake, for someone who is not a cake eater normally.

If I knew where to send a card, I would have forgotten to remember too! I hope it's been a grand one!!

It was very pleasant, thank you. I am moving away from hard copy cards unless I deliver them by hand. Christmas cards brought it home, just too expensive for what they are. Sometime soon I am going to email all the people I normally send cards to and tell them this year, ecard or letter only. That will only leave me a couple of people that are not online and for them, I will still do a card.

I find, since we communicate by email throughout the year, in a way we never did with snail mail, the Christmas card doesn't mean as much as it did. It was also a huge task just prior to Christmas and I feel it will be nice to be relieved of that as well.

Does it sound lazy or bad ? I am not sure.
