Has anyone watched this yet?

I watched the first episoide of Craft Corner Death Match and haven't watched since. The host was the worst. He was loud and rude and yelled all the time. The crowd was behind wire fencing and acted like a Jerry Springer crowd. The crafts were silly and even if they had been good, you couldn't see enough to see what they were doing. The judges were only so-so - I didn't really agree with their assessment on some things. For example, the second challenge was to make ladies' underwear out of mens' using ribbons and a bedazzler. One woman used metal studs to make the first letter of her boyfriend's name on the front of her cammy. Personally, I wouldn't wear something with my husband's inital, but we've been married 19 years so maybe I'm not romantic enough. Anyway, the judges liked her outfit better. Then the final challenge was the amateur winner against the professional. First the amateur winner had to put her hand in the host's front pants pocket to pull out a thing to make, then the professional had to put her hand in the host's other front pants pocket to pick out the holiday to make the object for (turned out to be New Year's Eve napkin rings). I wondered if the host would have done it if the crafter was male, in fact I wondered if any of the contestants would be male. The whole things was just so unappealing that I will not watch it again. But that's just my opinion, I'm sure there are people who like it, after all some people don't even like doing needlepoint, though I can't understand why. Margaret

I find my self wondering why this is on "Style" (which to my mind lacks any). The concept sounds interesting, but the presentation is so weird and totally off the wall, I can't imagine how it could work or why it would work!

I'll watch once, just to see if it is as bad as it sounds.

But as a Girl Scout leader, who is always looking for different ways to do a project, it could be a fun idea for the girls - minus the tighty whiteys!

HGTV has a show about crafts -- I think it's called Crafts Across America. I've only watched it a few times in part because the crafters are too perky when showing how they do things. If nothing else, it might inspire your troup not to be afraid to do weird things.

Oh, I am so glad that some one else finds that show too 'perky'. If I had any complaint about The Carol Duval Show, it is that very comment - too damn perky.

DS is on "electronic grounding" (no TV, music, gaming), but is allowed to be in the room if I am watching TV. I had been watching some thing on DIY (on of the knitting shows I think) and the jewelry show came on. He had me in stitches "Mom" (with a rising inflection) "who is this woman, and what kind of drugs is she on? 'Cause there just isn't enough caffeine in Mountain Dew to make any one that PERKY!" Thought I was going to die.

Carol Duval was almost comatose compared to some of the crafters on the show I mentioned.

Does that include some of Carol's guests? I can't decide who drove me nuttier, the "anyone even you Carol can paint" regular or the velvet stamper?
