Apologies?

I last week had to read 300 pages where she kept writing "apposed" rather than "opposed". I diligently changed each of them, and she told me she *meant* "apposed", which means . I guess she thought it looked more erudite spelled that way, though my dictionary disagrees with her.

Apposition Definition: Apposition is when a noun or noun phrase is placed next to another that explains it: RS Thomas, the poet, died a few years ago. Here, RS Thomas and the poet are in apposition, the second phrase explaining the first..

Her usage of it had nothing to do with grammar. Needless to say, I will be thinking long and hard before accepting another editing assignment from her.
