Kreinik pearl blending filament

I was looking at the end of the spool I have and it says "Made in the U.S.A. of imported polyester metallic" and lists a city.....what city is listed on yours? Mine says Parkersburg, WV and I wondered if all of it is made there or just the pearl, or if it's somewhat regional production. Just curious. Also, any hints on how to get the darned stuff to uncurl before I stitch with it? I've never used it 'til now and I'm using Thread Heaven but that doesn't seem to make a difference one way or the other. Any other hints welcome, too. Thanks! Sara L.

From what I seem to remember, all Kreinik threads are made in Parkersburg. I never managed to make it up there to see for myself, unfortunately. Too bad, especially given that I'm likely to never move back to my native West Virginia.

I wonder if they have an outlet? Becky A

VBS -- the only thing I have found that sort of uncurls the

*$%(*&%(^ stuff is SPIT!!! I know -- YUCK, etc. but for MOI it works!! I the length I want to use, put the end in my mouth and pull it through. I've tried and tried to be sanitary and use regular old water but it just doesn't work the same (maybe it's the **acid** in my saliva from my sharp tongue -- who knows)LOLOL! Actually, I have no idea why it works but it does. Since I wash EVERYTHING after it is stitched, I wash all of the nasty germs, etc. out of the fiber. OH -- once the length of Kreinik dries and is straight (sort of) and a bit stiff, I run it through the Thread Heaven. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

My hometown is only an hour away, and I'm about 2 hours away now. Maybe I'll see sometime. Where are you from in WV?

I'm a native of Charleston. Lived for four years in Huntington while I was in school. Somehow, it came to be that I married a Norwegian...and so I now live in Norway. Nice place. Reminds me somewhat of a blend of West Virginia, Ohio, and Michigan.

Holy crap is it foggy today... Becky

According to their website, yes:

"Today our manufacturing facility is located in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and the design, customer service and educational departments are in Baltimore, Maryland."

I'm from Clarksburg and have spent the last 5+ years in Morgantown in school. I'd say Norway is a little far away!
