Kreinik question

How do you store your spools of Kreinik blending filament and metalics? Or over floss/fibers on spools?

You store the Kreinik ones upright? I was thinking about looking for one of those spool racks for the large DMC ones.

I came across some small hard plastic square boxes at a yard sale, 2 for

25c. They are just the right height for my Kreinik spools. Gill

If you are at all handy, or know someone who is.... you could take a thin board or piece of plywood the desired size and drill holes in it, insert 2 inch lengths of proper diameter dowels....then hang them up inside a cabinet or on the wall. Think about the sewing thread spool racks you can buy for $5 only they've got fairly large spaces for little Kreinik spools.

You have given me a great idea. Now to see if it works. I'll report back in a day or two!

Mine are in floss away bags grouped by color family on rings, and then tossed into a Rubbermaid storage thingy that's about the size of2.5 shoeboxes side by side. It is not entirely satisfactory, but it's OK.

That's close to what I am doing now and I'm not really happy with it. And loose in a tin doesn't quite work either.

I have a purple plastic case with drawers that measure about 2-1/2" across x

6" deep. I think it's meant for floss bobbins, but several spools of Kreinik fit in each drawer perfectly. I can't remember who manufactured it, but I think I bought it in either Rag Shop or Michaels. It's not particularly attractive, but it works well.

I'll look next time I am in Michaels or AC Moore. Which will be Friday night while DS is at practice!

I use a small "screw/nail" cabinet - easy to find in a hardware store. Then I mark the drawers by color range - it's worked for years........
