Long time no see!

I have some kitted up with a project, but haven't gotten to stitch with it yet. I like the color combos, and just looking at the skein it did look like a much shorter repeat.

Hi everyone, did anyone miss me?

I?ve been off having Adventures in Real Life. Moved cross-country, got married, bought a house, adopted another stray cat who turned out to be pregnant? knit for a year without picking up an embroidery needle at all (now THAT was surreal!).

I think I?ve found a balance again. ;) I?m knitting a bit, gardening a bit, and designing and stitching again.

And I?ve even got a question for y?all. Have any of you used DMC?s new variations floss? If so, did you like it? I?m told it?s got shorter color repeats than their variegated floss, but how short is ?shorter?? Reviews? I've been playing with it in satin stitch, and it's very pretty, but I'm not sure I'm fond of the way it stripes. All in finding out the best way to use it...

I recently used it in the deep red for a wedding sampler and in the dark blues for The Legacy Embroidery Guild (EzBoard) Quaker Quarterly Exchange. It's your basic overdye, not really any different from any other overdye.

Hi and welcome back! I come and go from here also, depending on my workload.

I bought the line because I thought it was gorgeous. There are two I intend to use in a design later this year, but I don't stitch with variegated so that it stripes (although you said you were doing satin stitch, so I spose that's unavoidable). I stitch variegateds in directional blobs.
