Needlepoint Repair

I received the following inquiry: "I'm wondering if anyone has any sources or leads on someone who repairs

19th century wool needlepoint. I have a friend who would like to have a family heirloom restored/repaired."

I suggested contacting ANG. Does anyone here have any further suggestions? Dianne

She might also contact the museum in her area, specifically the textiles department. Even if they don't do restorations for the public they can probably suggest people who can.

Hello all,

You could go to a Persian carpet store and ask. They do repairs of such similar fineness and condition that they would know where to start. They were also quite sympathetic to needlepoint as a medium to make floor coverings, and they gave me very detailed answers to the questions about cleaning, etc.

And let's not forget our dear friends the founders of Paternayan yarn, eh?
