No wonder the youngsters (and those not so young!) cannot spell nowadays.

Oh she is someone who is always going to be posting more here but frankly just uses the group for her advertising, blatantly. Now I know that will exercise Dianne, but she can hardly deny it is true.

Lucretia,

I have been a member of this group for over 10 years. I started out as a member of this group when I was just an avid cross-stitcher looking for designs to stitch. This is where I fell in love the designs from such cross-stitch Diva's as Marilyn Leavett Imblum and Teresa Wentzler-just to name a few. This group also gave me the encouragement to pursue my dreams of becoming a designer.

The group was friendly, informative and many of the designers posted their new releases. As members we were always excited at seeing what was new from the designers. That's how, as a stitcher you could see alot of what was available and you could choose the kind of designs that you actually wanted to stitch. Many of the designers participated in posting on a regular basis. Other designers maybe not so often but they always kept us up to date with their new releases.

I don't know when you came along and it seems changed the rules regarding posting our new releases to this group: but let me tell you this. I WILL CONTINUE to post our new releases here.

I will also continue to inform the members of this group when we are giving away FREEBIE charts. They are a small way of saying thank you to cross-stitchers all over the world for their love of stitching.

We will also continue to inform members when we are holding Stitch Alongs. The stitch alongs are a way of trying to make it fun for stitchers to participate in. We can encourage each other. We make friends.

Did you even bother to ask your members, the ones this group is actually for, what they think of having designers keep them informed about what's new and exciting in the world of cross-stitch?

If you had responded with a friendly "Hi Dyan, nice to hear from you!" Maybe I would be more encouraged to participate more often in this group. But you have made this for me a very unfriendly group to be in with your disrespectful replies " Oh she is someone who is always going to be posting more here but frankly just uses the group for her advertising, blatantly. Now I know that will exercise Dianne, but she can hardly deny it is true."

Dianne, the one you are referring to with your dis-respect is also a designer and an active member of this group.

What a wonderful warm greeting designers receive from you!

Sadly, you are shunning away designers that keep this wonderful craft alive.

I think it's high time that YOU the members of this group raise your voices and tell us the designers what YOU want from this group. Without YOU there is no group. If you do not want designers keeping you informed on what's new, freebies or stitch alongs, then just say so and I for one will refrain from posting in this group.

Big Snip

Hi Dyan,

Ya know, you're correct and I'm very interested in what this group has to say.

For me, I appreciate this type post. I want to see what you've added without having to remember to search you out at frequent intervals. I find it no harder to delete designer posts I'm not interested in than to delete the more frequent OT posts. I would welcome up-dates (with links) from any designer.

I agree with you completely, Mag. Some rctners, IMHO, have never been able to distinguish between advertising, and passing along useful information. If some people may seem to stray occasionally, so be it. It will never affect how much real advertising we get on rctn. Jim.

Can't remember but I think before you.

I am sure you will, however the last time this came up you said you would be posting more often but didn't.

They are not 'my' members

I know exactly who Dianne is and were she posting her 'latest releases' I could respect that because she participates, rather than just thinking "Oh I should go and make sure I sell some of this stuff on rctn" - Personally I would rate Diannes work far more interesting than your own anyway.

Are you talking just about cross stitch ? There are plenty of other disciplines out there !

Well Victoria

Custume for one is KosTuum in Dutch, and Kostum in German . And there are many more ...

=A0I'd like to know what words your are talking about

I guessed it was a play of words , but somebody blamed her for misspelling .

When i firstr came to Usa i was rather surprised by the many `play of words i saw` mirjam >

I believe that can all be summarized down to two words.

Oh snap!

I'm just sorry that the time to participate in the last Stitch-along didn't materialize for me. I'll get around to doing those wolves one day...

What a gorgeous monarch stumpwork piece! Thanks for keeping us up to date on your work. Seems like I've known you forever. Didn't I do a cross stitch graph of yours for you lo those many years ago? Fantasy theme?

Vic - I think you'd really like her designs. The animals are so well done. I especially love the Macaw she did. I'm sure I have one of the horsey ones in my stash - just haven't quite gotten to it - it's not really the kind of design I stitch often.

You're welcome. I think you would have found it if you weren't in a grumpy, hurty mood.

I don't mind designers letting us know when they have new designs up on their sites, and while it is "advertising" in that it brings our attention to what they are selling, it is also good information, and sometimes lets me know about a designer I was unaware of. I would object to detailed descriptions, price lists etc, but that doesn't usually happen.

I think if it is repeated, and there are "look at me" notices every week when there is nothing new to see, that steps over the bounds. I remember a particular "cross-stitch diva" who used to post teaser after teaser (Monday--I am working on something so special!! Tuesday--Should I tell you?? Chorus of oh please oh please on Wednesday from besotted fans. Thursday-- Oh maybe I will just give you a tiny hint! etc etc ad nauseum) and that got annoying.

I missed your post somehow. We get alot of compliments on our site being easy to navigate. I don't know which designs you are referring to that the links do not work. If you can remember just give me a heads up and I will have them fixed. We have been working on the site for over a week now. I'm just wondering if you happened upon the site when some of the earlier missed links were being repaired.

We try our best but alas we are only human.

Let me know how we can help!
