I think this why many of the designers have dropped out of the group.
I despise blatant advertising "I have x for sale". However, I think if a reputable designer lets us know where we can find their new products, it is not beyound the pale.
A fine line maybe, but I still find it acceptable.
RCTM is for the people who say " I have a chart I want to sell etc etc.
As I said a fine point, but I like to see who has new ideas. I miss many of the designers who used to post, authors too!! Hi Mary Monica!
They posted it twice in a couple of hours and it is small wonder others like bassemet etc believe it is also okay for them to do it too. Okay I will say nothing more, lets the ads come, lets hope you are not sorry when they do. They soon grow, seen it in other groups, some of which are now not readable.
I find it more acceptable from designers who join us for other conversations, Lula for example, than I do from those who only come here to post about what we can buy from them
Hey didn't Karen C actually advertise for some cleaning product for a friend here a bit ago - that had NOTHING to do with needlework as far as I know - now THAT was advertising ... Kustom Krafts often lets us know when they have new designs to offer. No one said anything to Karen - yet Kustoms Krafts is just letting us know there's new stuff. Different scenario I think. Just my 2 cents. I love their stuff and like to know when they bring out new designs.

One thing that I found disturbing, when I went to their what's new page items based on work by living artists were attributed to them, but the item thay called Stitching the Standard was not attributed although it was clearly based on the work of Edmund Blair-Leighton.
I received a very rude post from an individual named Lucretia Borgia. As I responded to her; we have been announcing our new releases for years and we have never been informed that this was not allowed. Also added that a simple polite request would of sufficed.
As an avid cross-stitcher I myself appreciate knowing of new releases from ther designers.
First let me start by apologizing again to you. Your rude email, however was not necessary.
We did not advertise anything for sale but simply posted information about our new releases; which I might add we have been doing in this group for going on 8 years now.
Never has anyone requested us to stop because this was not allowed ???
Oh, honey, I feel your pain. I stopped posting for several months last autumn because of a health issue and now I don't even know where to jump back in. And if I do, will I have time the next day to follow up on it?
I like when designers post that they have new releases. It was only a short post. She didn't list everything individually. What is the big deal?
I find some of your rude comments much more offensive than someone simply announcing new designs. Designers anounce new releases on all the groups that I am on. You are rude a lot of the time...to different individuals.
Perhaps some therapy would help you deal with your rage at the world...or yourself...whichever.
