No, not at all, this is usenet MJ. I reflected on the strange post and realized she, just like you, is probably referring to posts where Cheryl/Lucille/Brat/Gillian/SharoninNB/myself appear to hurl nasty insults but are in fact teasing.
You know MJ, just the sort of humour that passes right by you.
I don't think she's all that rude, although she's often ironic. There is a difference.
Perhaps some therapy for yourself would help you grow a sense of humor and also realize that it's BEYOND rude to suggest to someone that they need therapy unless you know them very well and are their friend.
I, also, appreciate it when designers post "what's new" messages. Sure, technically the items are "for sale" but they are *new* designs for sale, not someone cleaning out their stash of oooooold designs, which is, to me, what rctm is for. Also, if designers are not allowed to let us stitchers know they have new stuff, how are they going to stay in business and keep enabling us? Many of us have become pattern
*collectors*, y'know. :)
I don't think most of us have the time to search all the multitudes of stitching sites to see what's out there, so this actually saves us quite a bit of time. I just wish more designers would post on here like they used to. We miss out on a lot of talent and expertise with their silence.
Beware.... Testimonial coming! Dyan, I've always loved your designs and have a number of them in my "collection". The charts are very clear and easy to read. Fire & Ice is hanging on the wall next to me here at work and I've gotten *so* many compliments on it. Keep up the great work! And it would the
*wonderful* if you could pop in a little more often, especially in the designing topics!
I am confused (nothing new). This group discusses health issues, pet issues, politics, religion, sex, arguments, governments, etc., ad nauseum. Yet the group does not permit needlework organizations to promote or advise of their products here? I've seen days go by with nary a mention of anything relating to needlework, but when a needlework product is promoted, all hell breaks loose.
Do you stitch (live time) with other stitchers ? I do, and I have for ages. When that happens we discuss everything (just like here) until and if somebody says 'help' and then all conversations stop and that person receives the help they need and then conversation resumes.
We also decide on projects and all put our heads together to do those projects. Even while doing those, when everyone is intent on what they are doing (and not needing help) then conversation covers a multitude of things.
That pattern, which has gone on for centuries amongst women stitching, is reflected in this group. Usenet has become a rather neglected aspect of the internet with younger people veering more towards forums.
You will notice when Sharon in NB wanted help re finding a pattern, many people offered their help but likely by tomorrow we will be back to chatting.
As regards 'promoting' a needlework product in my opinion, they only came here to promote 'advertise' their wares when it suited them and this is a commercial free area (very precious in this day and age) - there is the other group for marketing specifically for that. However, if the majority of people want advertising here, sobeit.
I know Dianne was for that but the difference with Dianne is that we all know she has all sorts of things she does but she does not come here to advertise that, other than that (I think) she has a sig line that leads you to her talents.
However, when you start imagining that I have 'inner rages' to sort out and other mysterious goings on, I really have to laugh my head off.
I am fortunate to love what I do everyday. To hear how much you love my designs warms my heart.
We work hard at Kustom Krafts to keep our line fresh with new designs. Receiving that negative email to my usual New Releases Udpate was very disappointing. It also made me remember why I stopped spending alot of time in this group...It seems that you can't please everyone. The years might go by and the names might change but there is always that someone who in an instant can make you feel unwelcomed and very uncomfortable.
It's sad that designers can't even feel excited about announcing new releases to a group devoted to needlework. We share the same passion people. Beautiful threads, fabrics, designs.....That's what get's me excited...
Well in any case, I guess I will be causing a commotion every couple of months when I continue to post our new releases. We welcome any of you to our Yahoo group where you can chat about your current projects, join us in stitch alongs and even post pictures of designs from other companies you are working on.
We just want you to have a great carefree place to drop in and have fun doing what you love best. STITCHING!
Well I've said my peace and now I'm off to bed.
Have a great day everyone and Happy stitching! stitiching, stitching, stitching......
I've had mine, thank you. Been living the good life ever since. Perhaps you should try it and learn to lighten up.
I don't find Sheena rude or agressive. I find her to be kind, clever, and very helpful. She does not, however, suffer fools lightly. So if she's been rude to you, you must have done something to provoke her. If she hasn't been rude to you, why are you having such a fit?
You just keep on posting about new releases and anything else related to stitching that keeps us informed. It is perfectly acceptable in RCTN. We welcome this information. And, we welcome your enthusiasm for the artform.
Good for you! I look forward to seeing the next designs.
How about posting a full link? These Yahoo Groups can be so difficult to find. So many of them ya get lost!
