NOT OT - it`s chocolate! (almost)

Now you chocolate lovers who particularly like Thorntons, need to know that they now do ice-cream - about ten flavours, in three different sizes, in chocolate lined cones, with choc sauce and choc stick - and it`s absolute HEAVEN!

Afraid this is one thing I CAN`t send a sample of!!! John reckons it`s the best he`s ever tasted in his life. My favourite is the Maple an Brazil - if you get a big one you can have three different flavours in the one cone.

Oh great - the Ice cream wars are starting, eh? Let battle commence! Shame ice cream doesn`t actually go well with stitching! It might dribble on it!

I noticed an ice cream place had "Moose is Loose" flavour - guess it is for hockey people missing the cool of the ice lol

Doesn`t sound very appetising as a flavour, though! I think my favourite is Maple - in most things, come to that! Then coffee.

My favorite is still the "It's It"! Vanilla ice cream between two oatmeal cookies, all dipped into chocolate. They are messy to eat unless you gobble them down, since the chocolate always starts melting where your fingers are holding the cookies. Since I savor my food instead of gobbling, I always have to lick my fingers when I'm done. :-) I think they were developed back in the 20s or 30s at Playland at the Beach in San Francisco, but don't remember that for sure. Sounds heavenly. A new "Rita's" opened right down the street from us last summer and they make what they call gelati (it's not technically gelati, I understand, but it works). Layer of "custard" (read: soft ice cream") followed by a layer of Italian ice, another layer of custard, and another Italian ice. The *only* flavor I ever order is lemon....ummmmm...not too sweet, real pieces of lemon zest in it....

90 degrees here today and I'm not ready for it (It was sixty just two days ago). Might have to run down to Rita's this afternoon!
