Same here in Baltimore. The snow on my deck has completely covered the table and chairs.
I made whole wheat & molasses buttermilk pancakes for b'fast. It's been AGES since I made pancakes, and it just felt like the thing to do! And they were yummy!

(VBG) hey, that would be sweater weather. (Actually, just about anything is sweater weather after a few days of -30---which is -22 on your Farenheit thermometer). I walked outside yesterday when it was only -20, smiled and took a deep breath before I remembered that just because it is sunny doesn't mean it isn't cold.

Also The Secret History of the Pink Carnation and the following books are light and fluffy and very well written.

That would be okay for a change of pace. I'm trying to play catch up with the books I didn't read for the last few years and the light stuff goes by very quickly and it would be okay to be reading something of substance in between, or even intermixed.

Now the counter height set is covered - as is the sitting curved stone wall, and the swing thing in the backyard you can just barely see the top of the back. The dog actually four-wheeled to under the dining table up on the deck as his prior down on the ground level track is completely gone, and now the snow is well over his head.
Yum. The Tuscan bean stew is in the oven for stage 2, comes out in 30 min to get the Kale, then back for another 45-60 min, then another 15 min with some Rosemary. Tomorrow...lasagne!
Donna's tart idea sounds tempting - I have some Meyer lemons in the house, and am thinking of doing a lemon custard. DH said a definite no to my idea of homemade lemon sorbet or ice cream. Go figure. Maybe I'll just give in and do a lemon cake or something. I have some recipe for a lemon custard tart. But, OTOH, not exactly WW material.
Hope folks all over are still warm. I've now finally laid out my stitching project, definitely doing it on black, and am working my way thru. I may put up some pix tonight or tomorrow - opinions welcome as this is a piece I'm working up for a proposal, but OTOH, can't have it published in any way prior to the teaching thing, except for their acceptance and a pilot class - if it gets picked up. It's very cheery given the weather now - all deep pinks, rose, rich greens, a pop of yellow. Like bright hard candies. Now if only I could think of the words I want on the cover. Duh. Frozen brain.

Hey - not that it isn't really cold, but I believe it's ~ -4 Fahrenheit (add the 32 then multiply by 9/5). Still cold. It's about 20 F here, which is
-10 centigrade. Still blowing about 15 mph, not as bad as this morning. Lovely patterns on the sunroom windows where snow and ice just blew right into them.

I love the kind of silly tongue in cheek attitude of the Maggody series. I also like her other series, the Claire Malloy one, though the whining teens are tiresome. The Rhys Bowen series of mysteries are very light and good - sort of Miss Marple meets Tommy and Tuppence (Ericka got me started on those). I also like the Carrie Bebris mystery take off on Jane Austen which I think starts with Pride and Presience. They're clever and tie the various Austen characters together, though focused on the Darcys.

Have you read the Michael Chabon book from last year, "The Yiddish Policeman's Union?" It's fabulous. I'm a big fan of his, and this is a great mystery - so well done that idiot I am, it took me a while to wake up and realize this really is totally fiction. You might like it for some social demographic reasons as well, as it presents this alternate realist which has the Eastern European/Russian Jewish immigrants having been granted essentially part of Alaska. I really can say he's one of my favorite modern authors.

Oh yes! You reminded me that I have that book on the bookshelf in my garage. My friend gave it to me to read a few months ago. I put it away for reading when I finished whatever I was reading and promptly forgot about it. I guess this would be a good time to bring it back into the house and actually read it. lol

I had reservations to fly up to see my sister in PA. While she only got 6 " snow, I have to fly thru Phila to get to her, so my flights got cancelled. We're going to try again next week.
Actually it was *freeeeeeezing* here this afternoon, all the way down to

Although it is not exactly light and airy, my book group all loved The Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, a story set at the beginning of WWII that involves the internment of Japanese citizens of the US. I thought it might be sappy, but it isn't, and although the background is serious, the story itself is about love, family and deciding who you are. A very nice read.
