Old Just Cross Stitch design

"I started a Darlene O'Steen sampler - The Added Stitches Sampler - in the Just CrossStitch Magazine in 1996. When my daughter was born, I put most of my stuff away for later. It is now later and I have found that I only copied and worked the first 5 blocks of this sampler. I have 8 more to go and I don't know where I might go to find the rest of the instructions. I have left a message at Just CrossStitch Magazine asking for archived copies. I have even looked up Darlene O'Steen on Google and not found anything for a Needle Prayse website so I can ask her about purchasing the final instructions"

Any and all help so Debra can finally complete this project would be appreciated.

She must have meant that she started the pattern in 1996 or typo'ed the year? This set of patterns ran in JCS bi-monthly from Sept/Oct 86 through Nov/Dec 88 (according to an interview with Darlene O'Steen in the Aug 93 issue of JCS). I was able to provide Anne with the Mar/Apr, May/June, July/Aug and Sept/Oct 88 issues. Now that we know exact run dates, perhaps others out there might have the other missing old issues? The rest of them are all available through eBay at the moment, but perhaps someone out in RCTN land is looking to downsize their stash. Just thought I'd pass along the missing info.

You are correct -- she goofed on the year -- her daughter's around 20 so she couldn't have stopped stitching in '96 as she stated.

Thanks to Lucille and my suggestions that she check ebay and Jinx's donation, she may have filled in all her gaps.

Don't you just love it when the Internet works????

Glad I could help! Frankly, it was an excuse to go stash wallowing. I found a ton of patterns and magazines just begging to be freed from the confines of my stash closet (coming to an auction or trade near you soon). I found things I didn't even remember getting in the first place--not even seeing them triggered a memory. Is anybody looking for anything obscure out there? I just may have it. (LOL) The magazines have definitely got to go! I've got issues dating back to the mid 80's!

You know, it might be kind of fun if we organized a mass RCTN "Wanted" online swap meet to be done all at the same time. Everyone could post things in one thread that they are looking for that are long since OOP or half missing or otherwise wanted. I know there's RCTM, but since it's mass trade and not for sale.....

Perhaps you could try something along the lines of the FreeCycle system.
