On topic: The hurrieder I go, the behinder I get

Subtitle: Save me from my big ideas!

Don't you just hate it when you start a project in a leisurely manner, enjoying the process, and the closer you get to the deadline the more and more you just focus on the product. Enjoying the process gets harder when the focus shifts. And the anxiety begins to build.

I'm working on a Chessie & Me design - a simple one, yes?

I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. BUT...never one to do things the easy way, I decided immediately that this design would be perfect for my high school friends (six of us total) for a gift at our next getaway. Well, that getaway approaches, and the six "copies" are in various stages of getting there, but it'll take steady, dedicated work to have them *all* done in time. PLUS, rather than frame them, I'm planning to make them into boxes, with the embroidery on the box tops (fabric boxes, NOT embroidered sides).

I'm walking that fine line between a pleasure and a chore. If it crosses over into "chore" territory, I *can* just put it aside and give myself permission to finish them later and send them for Christmas gifts - but it's so much more fun to present them in person and be there for their reactions. And the key is, of course, "giving myself permission."

To top it off, last night I had to frog one line of the border because I'd miscounted!

I admire ANYONE who can do TWO of anything - let alone six!!!! A heartfelt "Good Luck" to you! At the same time, don`t drive yourself into the ground with it.

Oh, Susan!!!

This is why I rarely make more than one of something, and if I'm going to make two, I space them far apart.

Miss Emilie sends you a consoling purr.
