OT: Be kind to your webfooted friends.....

Never known a summer like it - although I think that 1947 came pretty close!Half the country is either coping with floods, or still recovering from them - and it`s getting worse as the water drains from the hills.

It`s cold, and pouring with rain as I type, and we`re warned about yet more. Thank goodness we live where we do, safe from floods, at least. Those poor people - so many baling out their homes, and thousands more with no fresh water or electricity now.

All the drowned farm animals too - not to mention the little wild things.

Thanks to Bush and Blair, we are short of troops to help out in such emergencies.

I'll take some of your cold and damp, Pat. Is is continuing hot here (N Id) and to top it off, smoke from fires makes the air smelly enough that I can't air the house at night to cool it down. All I want to do is sit in front of a fan and stitch.

I sympathise, Deb - I can`t take too much heat. I said to John only this morning that this is MY kind of summer!

I see that Texas has floods too - over here we only think of Texas as hot and dry! We`ve been seeing the fires on the news - that`s really scary.

Well, then you may as well listen to it, too.

When is the chorus of "the song that never ends"......

I don't know, but we always sing it as "the laundry that never ends"

This is the laundry that never ends, It just goes on and on, my friend. One day I started doing it, not knowing what it was, And now I'll just keep doing it forever just because This is the laundry that never ends, (yadda yadda)

Do not speak to me of laundry. Mind you with the new rdryer, it goes much faster, I can't go do and stay down stairs to do anything. Someone rings the phone so I come bolting up stairs to answer it. Only to find DS is the one calling - cause I was done there for so long... C
