OT: book recommendation for mystery lovers

I'm 3/4 of the way through Kate Atkinson's "One Good Turn" mystery novel, and I'm finding it unputdownable. There's a huge cast of characters involved from every direction, and you can glimpse connections between them all, but I still haven't guessed how she'll tie them all together. Atkinson writes with a dry, biting humor.

I hated to have to go into work today...would much rather keep reading!

Anything by Jeffrey Deaver is good. Ruth Rendell is also good. I just finished Rendell's _Harm Done_ today and highly recommend it.

A book I also enjoyed recently was Louise Penny's _Still Life_, set in a small Quebec village full of artsy folk. Good mystery with great Quebecois moments, language, attitude & atmosphere. Nice change of pace.

More in the suspense vein, one I liked far more than I thought I would was Stephen Fry's _Revenge_. While it starts out humorous, once the main action starts, it is full on drama and suspense and very good.

If you like cats and mysteries, I can recommend Clea Simon's 2 books, Mew for Murder and Cattery Row. Of course, I may like them 'cause there set in and around Boston.

My wife has enjoyed reading the "The Cat Who..." series by Lilian Jackson Braun. They feature reporter Jim Qwilleran and his Siamese cats Koko and Yum Yum.
