OT: Fashion item ??

Since it's an Italian site, I would just call it what they did. I Babelfished the entire text of that website into English, and what came up talks about what seems to me to possbly be particularly Italian culture and not something universal that there would not necessarily be something similar in other countries:

wonder if this helps I have a 1901 catalog and they call this type of item a dressing sacque... cotton blouses --some with big collars and trimmed in lace/ribbons that you wear out..(not tucked in). the pictures were similar to your item a blouse that you tucked in, they were calling shirt waists.

I agree with Melinda that the blouse is something likely worn by Italians. We have several members here who are Italian -- live there even -- and they might likely b er able to help you out. If you don't get any response from the Italians who read this group (they don't post too often), post over at RCTQ -- there are several Italian quilters who post there all the time and you will get help from them for sure.
