I forwarded this note to my son, and he sent this info

this one's been around for awhile. Someone who's actually tried to track down the the source of this was unable to find anyone at Cambridge to link to it, but found some interesting things about the evolution of this letter.

Another interesting link that may be associated with this is :

It's actually from Edinburgh, not Cambridge, and the claim they make is not as strong as the claim made by the much circulated paragraph. btw - all the people who psas it on don't seem to mind the grammatical error..

and from elsewhere, a simple counter-example: "Hilpapy aoutrhs sitll issnit on fwinollog dullfready oslotebe snellpig."

none of the words match the criteria of the word list in the Edinburgh paper I mentioned.

Could not believe that. I could actually understand what I was reading. The phenomenal power of the human mind, according to research at Cambridge University, it doesn't matter in what order the letters in a word are, the only important thing is that the first and last letter be in the right place. The rest can be a total mess and you can still read every letter by itself, but the word as a whole. Amazing HUH? Yeah and I always thought spelling was

Important !

If you can read this pass it on!!
