Thanks, she is certainly magnificent to watch.

Especially today when my little dog has done something seriously bad to his right front leg. I suspect it might be his shoulder but he won't put any wait at all on the leg and isn't doing anything much except sit on my lap.

I'm taking him to the Vet this afternoon and I hope it's not too bad and he's just play acting.

Watch him carefully. If he's like the dog we used to have he would often started limping. At first we used to panic and take him to the vet but eventually we realised that as the day wore on he forgot which leg he was supposed to be limping on

We had a poodle who faked, the original poodle faker. I hope Puff is just faking and all is well.

Thanks so much for caring. He's okay. The Vet can't feel anything broken or out of place and thinks he probably just pulled the muscle or sprained it, something like that. In the meantime, he's limping around holding his paw high in the air and milking this for all it's worth.

She gave him an anti-inflammatory for a few days and sent him home with instructions to try to keep him from running and jumping, which so far hasn't been a problem. He's so spoiled that he knows all he has to do is indicate that there's something he needs and his staff jumps up and gets it for him.

If he's not better in 4 days or so, I'm to bring him back and they'll take x-rays and see if there's something she missed.

I've said it before, this is one high maintenance dog.

Darn you. I'm having a horse-sickness week. Gorgeous video. The "mean" SIL (that owes us money, etc) evidently found the new stables in town (they're in the outskirts of Hickory, NC) and got herself a job teaching riding a couple of days a week. SO, while I'm venting my green-eyed monster, I'm also really perplexed (the other sis says this one way overstates her riding experience, etc) and I cannot for the life of me figure out how someone on disability from their back/neck injury can possibly be riding on a regular basis. Something here about abusing the system, etc. But, anyhow - thanks for sharing. Don't you just love the musical dressage work. So much skill and communication.

Maybe Puff and Gretel have been in DTC (doggie telepathic communications). All last week she would limp around, looking sorrowful, holding her left paw up. We tried to feel if anything was wrong, but no yelps. We gave her a baby aspirin twice a day for about three days. It seemed to work, because she was chasing around trying to hide the rawhide bone from Max, with nary a limp, on the fourth day!!

Dogs are like kids, I think. Ready to get the most attention from Mom and Dad that they can!

I am glad he is doing OK. I think a pulled muscle was probably what Grettie got, too.

Brilliant - we love watching the dressage - and also the Spanish Riding School of Vienna. In fact I remember one of their displays was the first thing we ever saw on television, about fifty years ago! Our next-door neighbours had a black and white tv with a six inch screen - and we all thought it was WONDERFUL!

Maggie had exactly the same problem about 8 weeks ago. We`re pretty sure she hurt her shoulder jumping off the bed or the higher of our sofas. Anti inflamatories put it right in a week - that and riding my scooter with me over the hard pavements for a while! In fact she now hops onto it before I do, and takes a flying leap onto it if a rather large dog comes a bit too close!

To follow on with Bruce`s post, I think she plays that trick on occasion, too. She`ll start off limping, then forgets when she needs to investigate an interesting smell!

Thanks for the good thoughts. So far he's still limping around today but he's eating and doing better running on three legs. Yesterday, besides being in some discomfort, he had no idea how to balance himself.

I've always said he's a bit of a clutz and it's times like these that I know why I say that.

Kitty has her moments, too.

A couple years ago, she was sitting on the couch and Wayne sat next to her to pet her while I went in the other room. He touched her hip and she howled. He touched it again and she slapped him. He suggested I take her to the you-know-who, because she obviously had a hip injury.

Then she realized that Mommy had just poured tuna juice.

Flying leap off the couch and 3/4 of the way across the living room, and rocket-launched sprint to the kitchen. Oddly enough the hip that hurt sooooooooooo terribly when Uncle Wayne touched it didn't bother her in the least landing or running.

However, this mare is stunning - so much energy and attention - it seems she is truly enjoying her hard work.
