OT: for the dance aficionados

This is astounding. I thought the frogs were terrific, but what the prima ballerina does is absolutely amazing. Enjoy!

I was thinking the male must already have aching muscles with her points in his shoulders and atop his head but I wonder whether her joints will hurt like mine when she is old ?

Amazing yes, and graceful, but is it ballet or is it a combination of gymnastics and cheer leading moves?

Personally I prefer the old Russian style.

It's a Chinese acrobatic troupe. It's *not* going to be western ballet.

I agree, Lucille. I loved the frogs, but didn't think the Swan pas de deux was dancing, although it was beautiful and breathtaking.

I haven't gone to a ballet in ages (no money for luxuries) but there are two coming to Regina this fall. You have made me think I will find the money to see the Russian troupe doing The Nutcracker, which is advertised as the classical Russian version. Nothing like a Russian presentation of a Russian classic.

The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, who are always worth watching, are touring Peter Pan, which sounds like good fun.

It's ballet combined with acrobatics. The group doing it is really a "circus" company.

I used to go every so often in New York and I miss it. Here, if I want to go I have to plan way in advance.

I've never seen Peter Pan done. I bet it would be great fun.

And performed with such perfection and grace. Thanks so much for the link. I almost was going to stop during the "frog" part, but decided to see it through. So very glad I did! Even had hubby over at my computer watching with me.

Ah, just catching up on my e-mail - and it's been taken down. Actually, I think it's nice to see them policing copyright violations.

LOL - they end up in Cirque d' Soleil - if they can get out of the country!

I must put in a good word here for Cirque. They pick up a lot of kids up Ulan Bator way. They are kids parents have dumped and they mostly live beneath the town in sewers where it is at least warm. They regularly test kids there for any chance they can teach them.
