Happy Dance! (But OT...)

Well, it may be a *little* bit on topic, since it involves someone using a quilt I made. This is the quilt: . And the Happy Dance is that our little granddaughter arrived this morning, almost three weeks early (to her mother's huge relief ) and seeming quite healthy. She did give us a scare at one point when she stopped breathing and turned blue, but it was apparently just a mucus blockage that has since gone away. Whew! Ella is just adorable -- lots of dark hair and dimples -- though quite tiny; she's only 5lbs. 7oz. and 18" long, but that's okay for a petite little girl.

We already have four grandsons (two of whom are brothers to Ella), but this is the first girl, so we're especially pleased.

I spent most of the morning at the hospital and got in some good cuddle time. Ella's two big brothers (aged 8 and 6) are probably there now, as their dad promised to pick them up from school and take them to see her today. They've spent the past two nights with us as DD was coming and going from the hospital. They'll be glad to be back in their own beds tonight!

Congratulations and thanks for the happy news that she's a healthy little girl! It's kind of hard to imagine a little one that small (we grow them bigger in our family!), but I'll bet she's a delight to cuddle.

Happy Birthday to you all. How very wonderful. We will want pictures, bragging reports and a promise that you will get some baby sugar for all of us. Polly

Taria, it's time like these that I love being close to the grandchildren. But there are other times ... ;)

Pictures will come as soon as I can get one of Ella with her quilt. As for baby sugar, I suspect I'll also be getting plenty of that. ;)

She's the smallest baby from our family, Louise. It's because she came so early. Luckily, she's healthy! :) And I suspect she'll grow faster than her parents expect.

Is there any doubt? ;)

Thanks, Patti. Her name is really Gabriella Jacquelyn, but I have a long-seated aversion to Gabriella, due to a nasty little girl in school when I was young. Since my other DD also doesn't particularly like the name, we've decided to call her Ella -- miraculously, the mother (DD#1) didn't object. Whew! ;)

Thanks, Carole! I'm still grinning from ear to ear -- and now I'm woefully behind on my online reading! LOL!
