No Quilts, But Amy

Some of you may recall me posting about the little girl down the street, a friend of mine who manages to maintain a rather positive outlook despite living in circumstances which would send most of us to despair. Well, she is not so little now; Amy is eleven and looks quite grown-up when she is playing with my two doggies, or taking them for walks. I let her walk the dogs, and try to pay her, but she won't accept the money, and generally refuses even a popsicle-- yesterday she said she owed me one.

Some of you have been kind enough to provide my friend with some neat gifts, for which she has been very grateful. Last week I found an old bicycle in a friend's garage and have spent the past few evenings sprucing it up for her use. It seems to fit her just fine and she will need it for the trip to school in the fall.

By the way, the first dog, that little Cairn named Tulip, is now 15 months old; we got a Westie now, born May 19, named her Rosebud and have ourselves a real family. No more kids after this-- I think I'm too old.

In other news, library school is going well, and I'm starting another internship in a few days. See you.

How interesting, Mack. Thanks for the details, so we don't get the 2 of you confused. BTW, how is Mr. Bear? Is he okay, or has he become somebody's chew toy?
