Some of you may know that Carol Doak has started a Yahoo group for paper piecing. The group is quite active -- much more active than I can be! -- and Carol is very involved. She gives periodic challenges and free patterns that we can choose to do (or not). One of the patterns she gave us was for a miniature quilt, which I finished the other day. I'm rather pleased with the way it turned out, since I haven't done that much paper piecing, nor have I done more than one other mini. I've posted a picture of it at . It's 12" square, and I machine quilted it with a King Tut variegated thread in reds and a little purple; I used my attempt at a "flame" motif.

I love the way you finished it. The flame quilting lines are just wonderful. I saw the "before" when you posted that picture on Carol's group and it was great even before the quilting, but the finished project is super!

I love the movement the quilting gave your miniature, Sandy. I have 7 of the little blocks completed. I would have more done, but I had to stop and finish cleaning a closet to send donations to the church rummage sale that's happening this weekend.
I'm almost done with my second package of Carol's paper since joining her group.
Oh my goodness, Sandy. That is just incredibly gorgeous. Takes my breath away. May have to go find the portable oxygen. Wow. Polly
