Astounding feat (feet?)

I finished the toe of the second of a pair of socks last night. One ball of Lorna's Laces sock yarn, one pair of socks. Granted, they're short socks, but my feet aren't particularly small as such things go. I snipped 7" after I closed the toe and worked in the end.



This is actually a good thing, as the second ball, despite being the same colorway, was obviously a different dyelot.

Are you saying you knit a full length sock and then cut 7" off the top...? Not clear.

If that's what you did, you need to switch to toe-up patterns, maybe.

Noooo...I knitted short socks and had 7" of yarn left over after I closed the toe and worked in the end on the second sock. My top-down pattern works fine, thanks, has for years. The "astounding" part is that I got two socks out of a single ball of LL sock yarn.

Wooly, when you offered the Red Heart acrylic to someone who would pay the postage only, I posted a reply that I thought this would be a perfect yarn for Nora and her Project Linus afghans, and offered to pay the postage for it to be sent to her. If the yarn is still available, please let me know, and we can arrange the details to get it to Nora.

I tried to reply to you offlist, but it says you do not have your email addy with Usenet.
