OT: FYI users of Goo Gone

I remember GooGone was discussed here awhile back and several people, like myself, intensely disliked the smell of it. I use it mainly for getting the glue residue of labels off wine bottles. .

I recently picked up a more recent edition, GooGone Automotive Gel. It is far superior, almost no odour and I can spray it on and it stays in place, soaks into the gum and then wipes off readily with paper towel.

I personally detest the idiots who put unremovable adhesive on the backs of labels that they then affix to the products they are trying to sell - when you try to remove the label you ruin the product!

However, I have found that a small spray of a non-stick cooking spray (such as Pam) works wonders. Yes, you have to wash with soap and water afterward but there isn't a harsh smell to deal with.

WD40 also works wonders - but there is the smell issue to deal with.

Me too, what sense does that make ? I have found spraying with WD40 works very well but I can't stand the smell of that either.

Sorry I didn't see your post before I added that also. I didn't find it as good as the GooGone Automotive though.

Hi everyone, As requested I posted a picture of the RTCN get together at Celebrations this year. It also has a pic of Bobbie V's bumper sticker, some food from the dessert buffet, a quilt that was auctioned, and pictures of outside the hotel. It's a beautiful hotel, and the first time Celebrations was held there.

I don't shoplift and I don't expect to be penalized (quite apart from having to pay more for items to cover the cost of shoplifting because we all know the stores pass it on) so now when I see labels like that I make the store remove the labels first, so they can ruin a few until they come to one that comes off okay.

It's stupid. I agree with Melissa.

Thanks for sharing. I KNOW you guys had a blast, and am looking forward to Donna sharing adventures at stith-in this Thursday. And only a bit jealous.

Maybe next year I can come up with her, and we can actually do some days at Celebrations - it's a thought!

And getting Mexican food and relaxing in the whirlpool. Oh! and trying to find the most ladybugs. I also won a raffle basket again. That make 3 years in a row now. I won the Longaberger basket with the "Picture This Plus" hand dyed fabrics. about $100 US worth. The basket is signed and numbered. We had a chance to see some very old needlework tool kits and samplers, Out of my price range but some one bout a free standing lacquered chest.

Then there was the shopping at the picture this plus booth and I fell in love with the Fire Wing Designs and Who Knew Designs. I had to keep my friend Georgette on the move pass that booth. I did an informal class on how to mark maris, and now have to send Evelyn and Meg a design to do on them.

I took a class Sunday morning with Susan Greening-Davis and am nearly done with her needle roll up.

LOL - we've already discussed this - the only way we'd do a needlework gathering/seminar - is stay at the hotel and get the full effect. Y'know - wandering the halls, stitching at all hours, etc.

Yup - going to things like celebrations I imagine is like going to the guild national seminars - so much going on, new friends to make, cyber friends to meet, and plenty of S.E.X.

I detest it completely. If someone wants to shoplift or change labels , they will always find a way. Is the same here. And often that label is stuck in a place where you can't even read what you need to read - stuck on important product information for example.

Yes! A friend is on a very restricted diet and needs to read the ingredient labels carefully. We could not find a single package of one product where we could read the entire ingredient list because someone thought it was a good idea to put the price label over it.
