FYI OT

I am finally set up for knee surgery that I have been wanting for years. I tore some of the inner parts of my knee about 8 years ago while playing softball, then reinjured it playing volleyball. LOL I now have trouble walking any distance without my knee hurting and getting very stiff.

So, Wednesday is the day. I will be back home on Thursday and as soon as I can prop up my leg I will be back on RCTQ. I have also got some piles of FQ ready to cut for my canning jar quilt. I have collected a bunch of fruit and veggie material, some grey jar top material, and some verey nice wood material, so this should work out great. I am thinking about making my first wall hanging. It will make a nice decoration for my sewing room.

Hi Naomi,

I'll be thinking about you next Wednesday. Hope this surgery brings you much needed relief.

Your wallhanging sounds like a lot of fun. I've thought about doing something like that myself. Unfortunately, I think about more projects than I ever have time for. ;-)

As soon as you feel up to it, give us a report.

Best of luck for a successful surgery and a speedy and uneventful recovery. :-)

Be patient, though. Joints heal slowly. Really slowly. Really really slowly. Take it from a woman who just had surgery on a major joint (the hip). But it does eventually heal. Or so I'm told. *grin*

I was forwarned that it would take 3 months and a lot of pt before I am

100%. However, had I done this a year ago this operation would be a faint memory. I guess there is no time like the present. BTW - the doc assures me I will be well mediciated!

That sounds like a good plan. I hope the operation goes well and you are up and around in record time. Debra in VA See my quilts at

Jan, I had ACL reconstruction in 1999. The physical terrorist drove me nuts for about 4 months but it was worth it. No more pain, can walk just fine thenkyewverramuch. Just do *everything* the physical terrorist tells you to do and you will be fine.

That is what I am having fone plus a cadavar ligament graft inside my knee. That is the damage that would cause me to need a knee replacement in 5 years if I didn't have it done.

I promise, I will do what the physical terrorist tells me. If I falter I will ask for encouragement.....I want to get better.

I also had arthroscopic surgery and you really have to look for the "scar" lines. Keep doing the physical therapy exercises, too! I had a lot of trouble from "baby-ing" the bad knee before surgery and my "good" knee payed the price (but not enough to warrant more surgery.) Good wishes staying with you! ME-Judy
