I've been lurking, a little. Happy Birthday to all who've had a birthday!
I've been struggling with my knee the last few weeks. It was fine until I knelt down in front of the fireplace to put another log on. (Hey, the Dr. said and I quote, "resume normal activities as tolerated") My knee cap went to the right and out of the groove it tracks in. I got up and it went back in the groove, don't ask how it felt it was awful pain! Now it does it when I sit, stand, rotate my leg, twitch or anything. When I walk the knee pops and I can feel the knee cap going all over the place, except where it's supposed to be. I was scheduled for more surgery on Thursday and was called today, seems Worker's Comp is at it again. They denied the surgery! They need more documentation. So the nice nurse called me and rescheduled me for Tuesday in hopes that it will be approved by then. (keeping in mind that this is the same company, different side of the building that delayed my gallbladder removal for 3 months!) So I am still on light duty, I could scream! I do not do much except scanning documents to make electronic copies, how fun is that! Somedays you'er the bug and somedays you're the windsheild and currently I am the bug and I've gotten stuck in the windshield wipers and someone is trying to get me off their windshield and I'm being drug across it at high speed! LOL The kids have had the flu. DS #1 had it last week and DS#2 is now a full blown case. Yeah!!! Mom is doing well with her new knee. She's off the walker and her leg is more flexible than it has been in years. She's looking forward to her next knee replacement in a few months. On the up side of things I found out that for the 2006 North Little Rock Police and Fire awards I will be recieving the 2006 Firefighter of the Year award! Though I don't think I deserve it. I'm only getting it because I made friends with some of the neighborhood kids and bought them some things they needed. (shoe laces, shoes, socks. I left Christmas gifts on the porch Chrismas morning for all 6 kids and leave food on the porch on a regular basis. Didn't think anyone knew about anything but the shoe laces.) These are things that I believe anyone else would do, as a Mom I just couldn't let alot of things go without being taken care of. They are a struggling family and dad works hard just can't make ends meet.
I better go and get the Valentine goodies ready before I crash (I just took some pain pills), maybe I'll get a chance to work on my recipe swap some too!
Hugs to all,
