OT: God Bless The U.S.A.

I just sat here and watched thousands of people across the U.S. enjoying awesome fireworks as they celebrate their Independence Day and I must say, I've never wished I was an American more than I did tonight as I watched that display. So Happy Independence Day to my American neighbours and God Bless All Of You.

Thank you Maureen. I was born an American nearly 64 years ago, and am still learning to appreciate it. And trying to keep it so, so others can learn and enjoy it also.

I have traveled somewhat in Canada and love the people. The governing folk, I do sometimes dispair of.

Funny that--many of us up here say the same thing about the United States. Belated Happy 4th (my computer is accursed) Dawne

I love the U.S. and I love Canada, however, much to my chagrin I feel the same way about both the U.S. government and the Canadian government.

Don`t worry - we feel that way about all of them (including ours)! Heaven alone knows who voted for them! LOL!

Well folks I KNOW it wasn't me - I can hardly recall ANYTHING that I felt was important and voted on ever coming out the way I wanted - LOL!! MelissaD

Funny that--a government is voted in, often by a considerable majority, and then a few months later those "in the street" journalist types cannot find a single person who will admit to voting for them. Dawne

Too true, however in my case I really didn't vote for either of them. Of course if I had tried to vote in Canada I suspect I would wind up either in jail or in an asylum.

Gee, do we have prisons in Canada? (tongue in cheek). You'd never know it by the number of criminals on the streets! LOL.
