Have you ever visited South Florida. It's flat as a pancake and the locals call a rise of 10' a hill.

I went to some gardens, complete with nice sounding carillon, Box Gardens I think which were the highest point in Florida. We didn't even realize we had gone up a hill lol
I purchased some wind chimes which I still have, hand crafted in metal and very lovely.
That would be Bok Tower and Gardens. I've been there and I do agree, it's a beautiful place.
I think I read once that the highest point in this not so mountainous state is around 300 feet. Not exactly like the Rockies, is it. lol
I think the high point on LawnGuyland is only 147 feet. Mom took me there just so I could say I'd been. Easiest mountain I've ever climbed. :)
True, but go a few miles in the other direction toward Canada, and you're way up there in some of the most beautiful mountain areas in the U.S.

Where we are now is very peaceful, a large area, not many campers, so there are plenty of birds and critters around. Max and Gretel just love it; we allow Gretel of her leash when we go out in the field, and she enjoys that bit of freedom. We don't trust Max; he would run off into the woods and be lost forever if we gave him that latitude.
Back to the discussion regarding altitude, we did pass a ski area on our way up here, but I suspect is may be cross-country skiing.
Bok Tower, in FL, is in our home county. It is situated on the "Ridge", the highest area in the state. I think the altitude there is about 240 ft.

I will keep an eye on the group while I am here; I think there are a lot of messages to read, and I hate having to read them through Google! Will try to keep up, though!

Yes, I know the area where you are, when I lived in N.E. Ohio I used to travel to that area at least four times a year. The ski area you passed is in the Mansfield region and is indeed downhill. Very popular with local skiers, as it can be reached for weekends by most Ohioans. Many of my friends learned to ski there, although not me - give me the warmth every time! One of my good friends was on ski patrol there until he moved to N.Y.State. BTW, you are also in the snow belt right now.
