The original Princess was on the Howdy Doody show that was popular in the early 50's and was killed in an automobile accident. I think Mr. Rogers didn't begin his show in the neighborhood till the 60's. He had a lot of princesses on his show so maybe he had one with a similar name.

I had that Madame Alexander doll (along with 2 others). I wasn't the doll type and was completely and totally uninterested. However, they did fetch a striking price on eBay.
