OT: Holiday Decorating idea sites?

Tia, I don't know of any valentine's day decorating sites, but if she's looking for a quick and easy way to do up the dining room I would head to party city. They should have some nice cardboard hearts that she could stick to the walls and maybe some crepe paper streamers in pink red that she could twist and hang around. I might also get a box of the old fashioned looking valentines and sort of stick them around here and there or use them as placecards. Hope this helps!

For one of my birthday parties I used those tiny candle things... nightlights I think they call them, and had them on each end of every step of the staircase. It was stunning, the effect, and since I used perfumed ones, they gave off a wonderful scent.

If you want to be crafty and have more time than money here's an idea that worked for me.

Start with a large sheet of red poster paper. Make a heart pattern that will fit on the paper. (Bigger is better!) Cut out the heart. Cut out a second heart from the center of the first about 1.5 inches in. You now have a heart-shaped "ring," Trim about 1/4 in from the solid center leftover. Cut another "ring" from this; repeat a third time. Now you have 3 concentric heart shaped "rings." Punch holes in the tops of the hearts just above the "V's." Using yarn or ribben or sting, about 6' long, suspend the smaller ring inside the medium one, then both inside the big one. Make as many as you want or need and then hang these mobiles from the ceiling of your room.

I used this once for a church supper. The church hall had a high ceiling, but the maintennance man just strung strings across the room diagonally, then we hung the heart mobiles from that. Looked great.

Be creative! Just use single 'rings" of various heart shapes, or use two or three mobiles (of graduating sizes) stacked above each other on a single string for a corner display.
