OT: Holiday reading

Last nite I read Fanny Flagg's "A Redbird Christmas." Thoroughly enjoyed it, despite shedding a few tears along the way. It's one of those sappy "everything turns out all right in the end" books that are found in all the bookstores at this time of the year.

I'd like to hear other Holiday reading suggestions?

I cannot remember either of the authors, but of the same type "A Walk to Remember", and "Marriage of Convenience". HTH.

I've had the privilege (and I do mean privilege) of having that channel for a couple of years and it's one of ones I watch the most. No where else can you see Casablanca, a 50's movie musical like Anchors Aweigh and some of the hokey, but wonderful old movies, all in one week.

Enjoy !!

I LOVE TCM!!!

There's usually a theme to their movies each day, and it's always fun to figure out what. Some days it's obvious -- it's Groucho's birthday, and these are all Marx Brothers movies; or they're all by Hitchcock; or they're all about the Civil War. Some days, it's not so obvious -- famous peoples' first movies, costumes by Edith Head, all talkie remakes of silent films....

It's a kids' book, but I love "A Taxi Dog Christmas" by Deb Barraca - my kids, now 10 and 12, still beg to hear it every year.

Mine too ... we LOVE Casablanca, and that was a movie we bought together when we were first dating. Does anyone ever watch the HALLMAK channel? They're wonderful for sappy Christmas movies too -- love it!! (Careful if you have diabetes ... don't overdo!)
