Currently the eighth week after fertilization when the major organs have formed. Dianne

As in the end of the 8th week. 9th week is considered the start of the "fetal" stage of development.

I dont know the medical definition, but it is basically when the embryo can survive and prosper outside the womb. These days, this is somewhere around 27 weeks of gestation.

Sorry, not accurate. Medically, it's at the start of the 9th week of gestation.

Ah, the biology science definition is the end of 8th week - when internal organs have started their separation, development.

The "surviving outside" is how many people think of the difference, particularly WRT religious convictions, and opinions about abortions.

I disagree. One must look at the other side of the issue. Of what utility is what we wish to ban? Automoblies, knives, etc. plus guns used for hunting all have uses, other than to kill people. Here in Canada, IMHO, hand guns, automatic rifles, and these sort of things are merely toys for grown "children", for their own amusement. So we need to judge the value of guns, other than those used for hunting, against the damage they can do in the hands of the wrong people. IMHO, it is strictly no contest. The value of automatic guns etc. are insignificant when measured against how much damage they can do. Such things should be banned.

We tried that. The vermin's father's cronies selected him to occupy the White House.

Lol - oh well not long now and I predict you will have to be rid of him - or is he going to declare himself Emperor ?

(Now I have a dreadful mental picture of GWB without clothes, ickackpuey)

Unfortunately, there are some hints that he may be planning to declare martial law and therefore no 2008 election will take place. I am assured by my Republican friend that these are "merely scurrilous rumors circulated by the Democrat fear-mongers", but based on some things that he's actually said in the past about it being good if he were the king, I really wouldn't put it past him.

I see the rags in the stupidmarkets have headlines that Laura and Mrs. B senior are at loggerheads on account of Laura wishing to divorce GWB. Is there any basis whatsoever for those rumours ?

It wouldn't surprise me except that she reminds me of a "Stepford Wife" and I don't know that one of them would divorce her husband.

However, if you were married to him wouldn't you consider a divorce a good thing?

I agree Gill - and who in their right mind reads *those* papers anyway ... or at least believes any of it?

No one in their right mind should pay a lot of attention to those rags, but there isn't a lot of choice except to read the headlines when they're in your face in the supermarkets.

It's quite obvious that not all of us feel the same way about the Bush family and that's the way it should be in a democracy.
