OT - I am so sore

I took advantage of yesterday's glorious weather and started to clean up the gardens. Got one bed 90% done except for the shovel work. And got the back of the 130 foot bed half done. I thought I was being kind to my knees and did the side along the neighbor's lawn.

I am so sore - my legs, shoulders and arms. And my hands are covered in little cuts. Should have had some wine last night!

I feel your pain. April 2, I took a 5 mile hike through the woods at a local state park (you can see pics here

and it was not just a walk in the park (parden the pun), it was hilly, a bit muddy in places, and rocky..... boy did I hurt the next day.But the next day, DH & I decided to do some gardening - which including removing some sod, manually (no tiller involved) to enlarge the small flower garden out front.

And then, yesterday, we mowed. we have .79 acres of land, with a samll frame house and 2-car garage (read, extra-large storage shed) on it. Our riding mower died last year, so this was done with the push-mower.

I'm still achy.

Hey - that is the "right way" to do it, but not necessarily the least painful!

Giggle!

I spent most of the weekend outside cleaning the beds. Last year I removed all the deer eaten bushes and shrubs leaving many empty spaces. I edged the beds in brick and mulched them all around the house.

This weekend I planted some andromedas and dwarf holly bushes with pointy leaves (hand scratches as well!). And I think I pulled at least a few hundred mini maple trees. We have one of those maples that sheds those twirly seeds and they have all began to sprout. DH says I should open a maple nursery!

But had a great time. I just love this time of the year d> I took advantage of yesterday's glorious weather and started to clean up the

We went to the Cherry Blossom Festival and Saturday and it was not very hot there yet because mostly I was covered but my neck got red with sunburn. All day outside mostly. It did prove that my new makeup with sunblock works ! I had a good sit down on Sunday. Hubby did not stop to sit down but for about 15 minutes all day so we were go go go.

That's a part I am not going to miss lol The problem was always the temptation to do more, instead of working into the stooping, bending, pulling, raking actions after a winter off. As if they don't warn us enough on the radio here too, but I still did it.

Have a good warm soak in the bath, accompanied by a wee dram.
