Shiloh has lots of associations, but Shiloh Belle sounds to me like a riverboat.

Why I asked this question is because with Angelina being such a peacenik you would think she would realize that a lot of people would associate the name with the Civil War.

I thought it a strange choice, even though I was told it's a biblical name.

IIRC, the civil war battle field was named for nearby Shiloh Church.. I had always heard the biblical name meant peace - rather like Shalom. It apparently means rest or quiet, so her name translates literally as "quiet new" (although the spelling of nouvel is masculine, feminine would be nouvelle).

Sorry Marg Shilo Doesn`t Translate into any word related to Shalom or peace .... It might be a mistake in translating another word Shalev [that is written with same letters , when words aren`t punctuated -we have no vowel letters in Hebrew- and that it must be read Shalev which means indeed the Male Singular form of tranquil , calm, But if they wanted her toi have this meaning in HER name they should have called her Shelva Female singular of Shalev ,,,, or Shalva, =Calm,Tranquility mirjam

I wish them all the privacy they can muster and that people stop referring to them as Brangelina.

I can't stand this trend. Merging two famous people's names into one generally crappy one.

That and the way all the celebrity driven shows and magazines now refer to a woman's pregnant belly as a "baby bump."

A coworker leaves her People magazines on my desk when she's done, and during slow times at work I leaf thru it (mostly because it's there! lol) and these two trends just make me cringe.

I can't stand it either. I think it's nobody's business what they do in their private lives, just like it's nobody's business what I do in my life. And that whole "with fame comes the rest" don't fly when it concerns children of famous people. Calling them Brangelina is participating in a behavior Americans are famous for being.
