OT: Michael Jackson

What views do you have on the Michael Jackson case? I`ve felt, all along, that he was being set up. Never been a fan at all, and think he`s wierd, but felt a bit sorry for him.

He may set up, as you say, but I think his chosen lifestyle (hanging with pre- and early- teens), it was bound to happen. I guess you could say he shoulda known better, and that he brought it on himself.

He chose to live this peculiar life and isn't smart enough, or mature enough, to just say this is who I am, take it or leave it. Martha Stewart was jailed for lying but he has denied having cosmetic surgery, or so many of the other odd things he's done and he expects that I will believe him.

Now he's claiming to be bankrupt. From what I've read he was worth $300 million, or maybe it was more than that. Am I to think he went through that amount of money in such a short time? My instinct says he has a screw loose and may possibly be a pedophile and we should stop thinking so much about him.

Have a feeling he is reaping what he's sown....

Lost respect for him back during the Elephant Man business.

My suspicion is that Michael Jackson is guilty as charged. However, I put a lot of store by the opinion of one, Brian Toobin, who is a legal "color commentator" for CNN, and who has probably not been seen in the UK. He called the Laci Peterson case pretty much the way it turned out. He thinks the prosecution case is rather weak, *unless* the judge allows evidence from previous incidents, which it is reputed were settled out of court. If one or more of these is allowed in evidence, Brian Toobin thinks that many others may appear from out of the woodwork. I believe the whole of last Friday was taken up on this sort of subject.

Actually I think the truest statement is your last one. But only after he is placed a jail.

You're right. We should jail him and then stop talking about him.

Well, since I'm not actually privy to the entire testimony, I have to come to a conclusion based on evidence I am familiar with. I am familiar with the fact that, this boy went on national/International television and said he was not being abused by MJ. His brother admitted to telling lies. His mother has gone after others in the past for payola.

Okay, so, what am I to think? Well, I think MJ is a sick dude. I think he is extremely inappropriate with any aspect of his sexuality. Actually, I have always viewed him as asexual. When he married Lisa Marie Presley, I was astounded that he ever kissed a woman, let alone marry one.

Personally, I am not convinced that he sexually molested these kids or kid. But, like I said at the onset of my opinion, I do not have all the facts and what I do have is trickled down through the media, which I have no hope for.

So, is that any more clear on where I stand? Who knows.

That`s about how I feel, Victoria. He`s never had a NORMAL childhood - or life, and when he had that famous interview over here, came across as really childlike and naive. Like I said - wierd and a bit sad. IMO the parents of the children involved would be just as culpable. After all, what responsible parent would permit their kids to stay with a man in his forties who was not a trusted family member. Parasites.

Considering the number of children he has had stay at Neverland ranch voer the years, to have only one or two accusations of molestation is surprising to me, if such molestation is occuring. I think any parent who sent their kids unsupervised after the first accusation deserves some jail time. I think the doctors who butchered his face need to have their licenses revoked. I think Michael's parents need to take some responsibility for how they treated their little money-maker during his formative years. I think Michael is one weird duck who needs serious help, and while I have some sympathy for him based on how he was raised, he's also a grown-up now who needs to start taking responsibility for his actions and get that help.

I thought Michael was great back in the Thriller days. I can remember the groundbreaking nature of a lot of his work back then. That's why I think what has transpired to such a great talent is so sad and unnecessary. I remember watching the Jackson family reunion on TV last year and thinking, after seeing his brothers, that if Michael had just left his face alone he'd be a handsome man. All that talent was wasted.

Not to mention, these parents let this child stay in lieu of the fact that MJ had already been accused of sexual molestation by other parents, who also were paid off some years earlier. I think actually that happened twice before.

So, Michael may not be innocent, the parents are demons as well.
