Wool Felt

Need a source for just a few yards; the local fabric store just looked at me funny.

Cheryl, check Keepsake Quilting in Center Harbor NH. They have a web site and have wool felt for penny rugs etc.

Hi Cheryl

I use wool felt on the bottoms of almost all of my wood projects.

I've never had trouble finding the soft variety at an any shop that sells quilting supplies. Some major hardware stores sell the semi-rigid in their flooring sections to use in lieu of tar paper.

The amazing thing is that I just found wool felt for the first time ever at my local Joanne's. They had about 10 different colors. I haven't yet compared the quality of it to the wool felt I've bought at quilting stores. Though I'm sure what I bought is totally adequate for my purposes.

Hmm - I have errands to run, but the Joanne's is in the same plaza as Traders Joes......

I found an "artist's box" (crayons, paint, markers, pastels, in a layered wooden case), mostly full. A few screws, a little glue, some felt and I have a case to keep tools in! And DD gets the markers. The paints too! The pastels wait until she's a bit older.
